Once again i was able to come in early today. i actually worked it out with nick to have my hours be changed because it was getting to be somewhat of a hassle being here until 8 because theres really not too many people here in the last hour. so i changed it to 5-7 that way i can get a little more action hopefully and nick could then go home earlier each day. so all in all it should work out well for all parties. the hours on Fridays are normally just filler because there not really anyone who come in.

today when i came in the place was in kind of a disarray. all the weights were all over the place. initially nick told me not to worry about he would have the high school kids that come in for their internship take care of it but i decided to do it anyway for something to do and there were actually a few people in here tonight and i dint want them to have to search for the weights. i really have no idea how it got like this because when i was in here this morning it was normal. apparently a lot can happen in a few hours

today i spend the majority of my time out on the floor in the gym talking with members that came in. there wasnt much work to be done in the office and i kind of get sick of sitting in there waiting for someone to come in with questions. surprisingly enough if you talk they will talk back. before you know 20 minutes have gone by and you know a lot more than you probably should about a stranger.

today and yesterday was like night and day. yesterday was a great productive sale day and today there was barely anyone in the gym. i would hate to see how sparatic it is in the summer time. its pretty much all that i have been hearing around the gym how they are waiting for the summer to cancel their membership because it will be so nice. i feel like there will be a lot of cancellation filing going on for the summer intern. But i guess that kind of goes with the territory of owning a gym.

Today i was able to sign up three different people for the gym and it was by far the most productive thing i have done in a long time. all of which were givin tours of the gyms. the mail selling point for all of them was the 24/7 access because they all worked at night jobs and they would end up coming in early in the mornings after they got off work. the 24/7 gym was a huge step with the keyless entry and allowed for a greater number of sales to be conducted and a larger profit for the companies

today i was able to come in early for work and it was a good thing because it was completely dead. i spend the whole time on the surveillance tape again trying to find out who did it. i also adjusted a few of the cameras so it would provide better coverage angles.

today it was brought to my attention that a few items were missing. one of which was the scale in the womens bathroom. we put a scale in there so they would feel more comfortable weighing themselves instead of being where everyone and their dog can see in the gym. low and behold it get taken and there's no way we can bring it back on the camera because whoever did it was pretty crafty and stuck in in their bag, and none of us knew the exact time it was gone. the second item was out personal trainers new shoes. we also could get the person because of the angle of the camera wasn't good enough and a lack of sure information on the time date. so i spend most of my time searching the camera.

today i started out with normal cleaning duties even though the place is fairly clean to begin with. Then a couple of younger guys came in to sign up for a membership. after all of the paper work was completed he informed me that he didnt have a credit card at this time so he could pay. but we cant take people's word for credit because you just tend to get burned so i said he would have to come back when he had a credit card or a routing number. needless to say they guy never came back.

i started out today with a lot of filing for our new members. we had an very productive month compared to last years numbers so there was plenty of filing for me to do. after i was finished with that i took some time to talk with our trainer on some training techniques that he likes to use and uses frequently. most of which i kind of already knew about and some i had to double check because it didnt sound all too right such as the activation of the quadicep doesnt changed based on feet positioning. i tried to look for it but couldnt find much

Today was a pretty productive day. normally when i come in nick tells me if there was anyone who called that would be in during the hours that i work and he said that three people would. three people did in fact show up, however none of which wanted to sign up. i gave them a free week pass and wished them the best of luck. the rest of my night was spend spotting a couple of younger high school or freshmen college kids in a few of their lifts.

Today i again was able to come in early, mostly because its friday and theres not a lot of people that come in to sign up past 6. nick did aske if i wanted to start coming in a little earlier to work. which wouldnt be a bad idea since i eat at 8 every night. now i can make it 7 30. But today was suuuuper slow, with the weather being as it is now i doubt there was more than 4 people in there at a time. and it must have been that way all day because the whole place looked like it hadnt been touched since the previous cleaning. so i really didnt do a whole lot. the most i did was probably write this blog.

Today i came in nice and early because nick had to take his son to an appointment. its nice to have the option to come in and make some more hours if i want. it just making working here that much more enjoyable. i am really liking my experience here. most of which is on a management level of signing people up. i like that part a lot more than what i thought i would mostly because my passion is working out. but talking with folks about getting a membership makes me feel like i'm helping them to make the first step towards change and it feels good. now all i need is to help take the second step and start training!

today was a fairly slow day, i was with the guy i designed the workout for for about 30 minutes and then decided that i needed to inform the gentleman with the mud caked boots that he was causing a mess rukus. he was very nice about it and really didnt realize he was doing it. but i cleaned that up and went on with my night, sitting in the chair and helping to spot the random muscle body in the gym. once 7:30 rolled around this place felt like a ghost town.

today i sat in on another bootcamp session, this one was a lot of cardio and core work, which is a pretty good thing especially because we have an older clietell that cant do many of the harder lifting stuff tonight. he did assisten curl ups with rope, so when one person goes up the other one can go down. this way they can finish a full sit up and be able to do it slowly and with controll. the rest of the time was spend doing unterval training and a little agility stuff upstairs. i didnt get to watch all of it because i had to help fix one of our dumbells but from what i heard it was pretty good.

in todays endevors i was able to sit in and watch a short training session with a fighter that was trying to lose weight. brian had taken him through one session already today and was about to do another one when the guy said that he hadnt eaten anything today. this is not a good thing especially when you are training twice a day. but apparently he needed to lose 10 full pounds in order to fight in one week. not an easy feat. brain gave him some food and took him through a modified crossfit routine. the most important aspect i thought about during his workout was that fact that he was going to be gasses because he had no energy source because he hadnt eaten much. when you are burning that much you should be able to take in at least 6 smaller meals a day with plenty of water, but he wasnt taking in anything. so i actually told him thats what he should do and brian agreed so hopefully he goes after it.

today i came in the morning to get my hours done because i was leaving town. i never would have thought thaqt anyone would come in between 8 and 10 but sure enough if you open it they will come! i had two gals come if after their shift at 3m. both of which signed up. I cut them both a pretty good deal because they had initially just come in for pricing and membership options. well in order to sweeten the deal i cut the price on the access cards. if you know about our promotion thats the highest priced thing depending on the account. so they really liked that and they both wanted training from brian so i actually helped brian with that as well. one thing thats also worth noting is that if they are members of blue cross insurance then they get 20 dollars off their membership each month, only if they come in at least 12 times. we just scan their card and are able to forward that information based on the number of times they swip their access cards. so i thought that was pretty neat

Today i had three guys come in and ask about working out here for the night. they told me that they normally work out at the y but they have heard some good things about the place and would like to check it out. i personally havent seen the gym at the y but i dont hear all too many great things about it. normally we would charge 5 dollars for a day pass but in this case i didnt because our main goal is to have people sign up for a membership. really the revenue that comes in as far as day passes go just go into the water and gatorade fund for the vending machines and thats mostly through the yoga gals. this way i'm hoping they will see that its a good place to work out and the staff is quite friendly.

Today i did a lot of muscic research on the internet, mostly because i dont listen to much variety, and also it was a pretty slow day after all my regular cleaning was done. i have the idea of maybe getting at least 60 songs per genre that way if you miz them all up and hit shuffle it would be like listening to the mix radio without the commercials. the only thing that i'm really having trouble with is finding the rap songs without vungar language. we cant have any of that here because not all people like that, i know i'm not that big of a fan. I did have one lady come in and ask for some prices but really nothing came of it.

today i had four different people come up to me duing their work outs and asked if i would change the station of music. most of them are the heavy lifters so they have a particular tast in music when it comes to working out. but it really got me thinking that if we just had an ultimate playlist we could hit all genres and at least try and please everyone. so i ran it by nick to maybe make the ultimate playlist of hit songs, rock songs, old school stuff, all clean of course. that we can play at different points of the day and he reallyed liked to so i have gotten the go ahead to start a whole new project.

Nick really like the excel and said it will make thing a lot easier now that we dont have to make sure not to throw away that one piece of paper. which could have happened at any moment especially when i came in he was doing some spring cleaning. we also discussed some options of maybe bring in new members and including classes that have like P90x and other fitness videos. mostly because thats what a lot of people are into these days. so this way they dont have to shell out all that money just for them, and they have a place where they can do it and sweat all over the place and not have to clean it up! today was a great brainstorm day over all.

Today was a reletively slow day, not too many people in the gyme and there were no classes going on today. so i spent most of my time cleaning. however i did get a lot done as far as the weight challenge is concerned. before we were just using a pen and paper to enter in weights for everyone, but i felt that was a little too old school so i threw everything into an excel document which made everything A LOT more organized and frankly easier to read. i have all the names the weigh in dealines and how much each have lost so far in their weight loss voyage. it was really easy to do and killed a bit of time. so we will see what nick says about it.

today was pretty much the last day i would have to show what all the lifts entail as far as the movements are concerned. so i took my guy through whatever day he wanted and once we were finished we came and started to talk about which lifts were easy, if he wanted to upgrade to a more difficult routine, or stay the same. i let him know that we can alter the routine at any time but for now it would probably be best to stick with it for this next week as well so his body has time to adapt to the new changes, but i told him the next week after that to come in and we will go through and increase some of the weights for him so he can have the same type of muscle response as he had the last week or the first week. we could spend a whole lot of time to hash all the details out becasue i had a couple come in and want to sign up so the rest of my time was spent with them working out all the payment options.
